OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- The Amateur Softball Association announced on today that All Star Plumbing, Long Haul Trucking and WCS/LCV were named the Point Champions of the 2009 ASA 2K Series for Mens Class A Slow Pitch. With a total of 60 points each, All Star Plumbing, Long Haul Trucking and WCS/LCV will receive $2,000 upon arrival to Oklahoma City on Oct. 1-4 for the Mens Class A National Championship.
We were thrilled to be able to see success in the ASA 2K program in its second year, said Julie Bartel, ASAs Director of Marketing & Communications. All Star Plumbing, WCS/LCV, and Long Haul ended up in a three-way tie for the 2K title, and will be in for a real battle when the other Class A Teams convene in Oklahoma City. Our restricted player list combined with our HR limits list has leveled the playing field and everyone is looking forward to one of the best weekends of ASA top end slow pitch softball.
The ASA 2K Series for Mens Class A Slow Pitch included four events held throughout the country in 2009. The first was the Combat Capital Classic, April 3-5, in Oklahoma City. The other tournaments were the ASA 2K Kickoff, April 25-26, in West Covina, Calif.; Best of the Northwest, June 13-14, in Portland, Ore.; and the 50th Annual Firemans, July 17-19, in Bloomington, Minn.
The ASA 2K series started during the 2008 season with seven designated tournaments serving as ASA 2K sites. Upon their arrival in Oklahoma City for the ASA Mens Class A National Championship, Sept. 26-28, the 2008 Champions Long Haul/Phonemasters/Miken received the prize money for their title.
