Team Personnel Required to have ACE Certification and
Background Checks
per ASA 2011 Code Article 501 B 03 a&b.
"03
a. Any Junior Olympic team participating in championship play must have
at least
one ACE
certified coach (current
year) on the field/dugout during
championship
play games.
b. All JO team personnel assisting in the dugout
(or on the field) must have
an ASA
background check (current year).”
ASA insurance requirements for teams to participate in ASA JO Championship
Play per ASA policy
- In order to participate In ASA Junior Olympic/Youth Championship Play, all teams must be ASA
Individually Registered or Purchased through Bollinger Insurance Co. the ASA Team Insurance
Package Plan.
Requirements for ASA Non-Championship Play
- If a team is not register with a local ASA Association (Metro St. Louis ASA) prior to participating in an out-of-town ASA sanctioned
tournament, that team may be required to pay a fee to tournament hosting organization to register
with ASA.
- A team participating in any tournament out-of-town maybe required by the
hosting organization to
show proof of team insurance that covers for both medical and liability for all team
personnel. Additionally, they may require that this insurance be purchased through a
designated Insurance Company.
It
is the team’s responsibility to check with the hosting organization on the registration and
insurance requirements prior to participating in any tournament or league play.
